Seattle Sounders go into Wednesday night’s clash with Vancouver
Whitecaps knowing that victory will be enough to guarantee them a place
in Major League Soccer’s play-off round.
Siegfried Schmid’s men
have already passed up two opportunities to secure qualification but are
chalked up as warm favourites at just 3/4 (1.75) with Betway to claim all three points.
The Whitecaps’ own chances of making the play-off round are hanging by a thread and Martin Rennie’s side are rated as a 7/2 (4.50) chance with Betway to claim a vital victory when they travel to Seattle. The draw is available at 12/5 (3.40) with the same firm.
Seattle
are without a win in their last three matches but Schmid’s side have
scored in each of their last 13 games in all competitions.
With
the influential strike duo of Clint Dempsey and Obafemi Martins likely
to shrug off injury concerns to play a part on Wednesday night, Seattle
will certainly be confident of hitting the target again here.
It
is worth noting, though, that despite trailing Seattle by nine points in
the western conference, Martin Rennie’s men have netted more goals than
their high-flying opponents and this looks likely to be an open,
entertaining contest.
Therefore, the 17/20 (1.85)
quote from Betway for both teams to score on Wednesday night would
appear to represent outstanding value and should be backed accordingly
by punters.
