Antonio Conte has bemoaned the fickle nature of Juventus' critics ahead of Sunday's Serie A showdown with AC Milan.
The Bianconeri currently lie in third place on 16 points, just two adrift of league leaders AS Roma.
Yet
whilst Conte’s men remain unbeaten this season, the media have taken
aim at Juventus’ poor performances in the Champions League, with the
Turin outfit having drawn their first two games in Group B, against
Copenhagen and Galatasaray.
We seem to be in this situation
where if we don’t win then people say we’re worthless, but I understand
that," Conte told reporters on Sunday.
We are well aware that we
can always improve, especially at the start of the season, but the same
people panicking now are the ones who a few weeks ago said we’d be
unstoppable.
The Bianconeri boss also insisted that he is more than happy with the club’s continental displays.
In Europe, we have had more shots on goal than any other team, which is an important and positive statistic, he reasoned.
There were a few too many individual errors, but these things can happen. I have faith in my lads.
Although
Milan are currently ninth in Serie A this season, Conte believes that
Massimiliano Allegri's men can still challenge for the league title.
This will certainly be a match between two teams who can take the Scudetto, he argued.
The Rossoneri
have an excellent group of players who have belief in their qualities
and for three seasons have been consistently at the top of Italian
football.
