A dramatic weekend of action in the Bundesliga saw both Borussia
Dortmund and Bayern Munich drop points, with Pep Guardiola's troops
claiming Jurgen Klopp's men's place at the top of the table thanks to
their point at Bayer Leverkusen and BVB's loss to Borussia
Monchengladbach.
Elsewhere, there were impressive wins for
Schalke and Hamburg, who overcame Bavarian pair Augsburg and Eintracht
Braunschweig claimed their first victory of the season. Here, Goal picks out the best performers from across Germany over the course of the weekend.
Between
the sticks, we have Bernd Leno after the young goalkeeper making an
astonishing number of saves for Leverkusen as they frustrated Bayern.
Martin Stranzl was inspirational for Borussia Monchengladbach as they overcame Dortmund, while Atsuto Uchida set up two of Schalke's goals in a terrific performance. The final defender is Christian Schulz, who opened the scoring in Hannover's draw with Hertha Berlin.
Martin Harnik is the first of the midfielders to make the cut, having found the net for Stuttgart against Bremen. He is joined by Rafael van der Vaart, the scorer of one and assister of two more of Hamburg's 5-0 goals, Roberto Firmino of Hoffenheim and Franck Ribery, a constant thorn in Leverkusen's side.
Up front, Adam Szalai netted two of Schalke's goals, Karim Bellarabi led Braunschweig to their first win of the season and Pierre-Michel Lasogga scored a hat-trick in Hamburg's thashing of Nurnberg.
