The 68-year-old Romanian came face to face with the Bianconeri in the group stages of the competition last year, and believes the Turin outfit have the quality to go all the way this time around following investment in the squad this summer.
Speaking to reporters, Lucescu said: "I am sure Juve will reach the Champions League final.
"Juve already has a strong squad, and has been made more complete with the signing of Carlos Tevez."
The Serie A champions must negotiate a tricky Champions League group also containing Real Madrid, Galatasaray and Copenhagen, where they kick off their campiagn on September 17.
Meanwhile, Lucescu also thinks that AC Milan have pulled off a great coup by re-signing Brazilian playmaker Kaka.
The 31-year-old has made a return to Rossoneri colours following a mixed four-year spell with Real Madrid, and Lucescu believes he will prove an inspired addition.
"Kaka had a difficult time in Madrid but he will once again be a star," he added.
""He remains a big name and can once again prove to be very important."
Shakhtar themselves will face Manchester United, Bayer Leverkusen and Real Sociedad in the Champions League group stage.
