Juventus put Pirlo contract talks on hold until February

Juventus general director Giuseppe Marotta has revealed the reigning Serie A champions have put contract talks with Andrea Pirlo on hold until early 2014.

The Italy international's current contract with the Bianconeri is due to expire at the end of the 2013-14 campaign, but Juventus are in no rush to extend his existing deal.

"Pirlo's contract? We have held talks and are calm about it. We have decided to continue negotiations in February or March," Marotta told Tuttosport.

Pirlo joined the Bianconeri on a free transfer after leaving AC Milan in the summer of 2011 and has played a pivotal role in the club winning back-to-back Serie A titles. He has featured in each of the Turin side's league games so far this season.
